Yahsat will build Al Yah 3 High Throughput Satellite with Orbital Sciences

United Arab Emirates (UAE) based  satellite operator Al Yah Satellite Communications Company (Yahsat) has decided to build its next satellite named Al Yah 3 with Orbital Sciences. And they planned to launch the satellite in late 2016 on an Arianespace Ariane 5 rocket. With this new High Throughput Satellite (HTS), Yahsat expects to get a capacity of more than 600 million people.



Based on the company’s new hybrid propulsion GEOStar 3 satellite bus, Orbital Sciences is building Al Yah 3 now. They expect to reach the following station at one time in orbit: more than 95 percent of Brazilian and about 60 percent African in Ka-band.



Masood M. Sharif Mahmood, CEO of Yahsat once said that, "Yahsat will still keep exploring ground partners and distributors both in Africa and Brazil. In our target markets, We will provide a 360-degree service platform to facilitate the distribution of broadband and connectivity services. There are some parts of our exercise is aiming to assure the right distribution and operational platforms in each market of Yahsat."
