United Launch Alliance (ULA) announced that its strategic partner for Dual Launch Capability development is RUAG Space AG of Zurich, Switzerland.

RUAG became the winner in the six-month competition for Dual Launch composite structures over two other highly qualified suppliers. The provider of space product and now produces ULA's Atlas 5 launch vehicle 5.4-meter payload fairings and 400-series composite interstage adapters.

 “The relationship between us and RUAG has grown to be very synergistic and collaborative in the past 17 years,” the ULA president and chief executive officer Michael Gass said. “The formation of this kind strategic partnership is the next evolutionary step, and gains more business possibilities for both of us in the future.”
