The Satellite fleet operator Telesat acknowledged that they won the Canadian Government Xband Services Deal and will supply X-band satellite bandwidth with Canadian government agencies located in Canada and the whole world. They signed a new contract for this business cooperation with Shared Services Canada (SSC) and the contract amount is confidential.
This contract required the partners need to use the Astrium Services-owned satellites properly to meet its requirements. And Telesat will use Astrium’s X-band satellite capacity to satisfy the requirements of Canadian government’s. Astrium Services possesses and control the British Skynet fleet of military communications satellites in the whole Paradigm Secure Communications subsidiary. Further more, Astrium has a proper lease of X-band payload aboard Telesat’s Anik G1 satellite, which will be started into the 107.3 degrees West orbit slot in the latter of this year.
Telesat said they acquired the SSC award after a competitive bidding progress. SSC is for a part of Canada’s Public Works and Government Services Canada.
