The operator of the AMOS satellite fleet, Israel based Spacecom, has won a three million extension contract with a Southern African Internet technology provider. In the agreement, the contract time will be extended, capacity on the AMOS-5 satellite will be expanded, and the agreement also add the existing client's beam capacity for Standard and Extended C-band.

Its AMOS-5 capacity will be used by Spacecom’s client for a variety of VSAT services and broadband backbone to further service the financial and general enterprise sectors in Southern Africa.

“We are very happy that an existing client is … expanding its relationship with us,” Eyal Copitt, vice president of sales and marketing for Africa, Asia at Spacecom, said in a statement.
