SES Broadband Services and Orbitcom has prolonged their partnership of April 2014 to deliver Astra Connect to German communities. Orbitcom, an Internet Service Provider (ISP), will be in charge of the service, as well as providing equipment and customer support.
Through a single antenna with local network infrastructure, satellite broadband services can be delivered to a community by Astra Connect.What's more, Orbitcom will establish a website for users browsing and purchasing packages offered online.
The managing director of SES Broadband Services, Patrick Biewer said, “Our Astra Connect for communities service improves the way of Internet connection via the terrestrial infrastructure.With this, people can be supplied with a high-speed Internet connection not like provided before. Also with the partnership expanding between SES and Orbitcom, we can extend and speed up the applying of this solution for German villages and communities.”
