Astrium has been selected by The Russian Satellite Communications Company (RSCC) and Eutelsat Communications to build the Express-AMU1/ Eutelstat 36C satellite, it will be started in 2015 to offer subsequent and expansion capacity to the Eutelstat 36A broadcast satellite operating at 36 degrees east.

    The Express-AMU1/ Eutelstat 36C is expected to be a high volume satellite with up to 70 transponders. The coverage for broadcasting services of Ku- and Ka-bands will be offered in the European part of the Russian Federation, and guarantee the continuous service and growth for the broadcast markets Eutelsat has developed in sub-Saharan Africa.

    In order to support more television services and interactive services based on IP, Satellite dual-frequency design is set to broadcast infrastructure in 36 degrees east longitude to the broader system, with the development of digital entertainment market in Russia.
