The Greek telecoms operator, OTE, has decided to deliver its new satellite broadband service to Greek home by Eutelsat’s KA-SAT. It plans to reach maximum 6 Mbps upload speeds and maximum 22 Mbps download speeds to deliver the service. And it will provide services to the underserved users around the country.

This new satellite service of OTE, which is available through OTE Group’s retail stores, is applied with a small satellite dish and modem and operated without requiring a fixed telephone line. The talented personnel of OTE install the user equipment. OTE’s satellite-based Internet service and its satellite TV service can be bound together when using the same dish. The satellite TV service can provide more than 80 digital and 25 HD channels. Eutelsat 9A satellite, which shares the same orbital position as KA-SAT is also the source OTE broadcasts from.
