On Dec. 21, Telefonia Global Solutions announced that they will use KA-SAT satellite with Eutelsat's high-performance to offer carries from all over Europe with high quality satellite broadband services.

The aim for Telefonica is to provide European carries solutions with KA-SAT in reliable and competitive prices as terrestrial broadband services. Also the aim is to send that fast Internet service to the whole carriers, especially in the regions beside of terrestrial broadband networks, such as rural area, urban area and the area doing terrestrial access with wholly various standby solutions.

Jose Antonio Guerra, the Director of the Satellite Services Business Unit of Telefonica stated that Ka-band bid of Eutelsat is the reasonable step for the data communication business evolution via satellite in Europe. And he also said that KA-SAT would allow them to provide high quality services in competitive price and to update their catalogue services for operators and corporations. And also they would allow them to finish all the strategy for Telefonica Group in order to offer the access technology services like 2M or iHealth.
