Euroconsult predicts that the total number of satellites will be manufactured and orbited from 2014 to 2023 are 1,155 which worth about $248 billion in total. The report titled“Satellites to be Built & Launched,”believes that 75 percent of this projected business comes from government programs while the last 25 percent belongs to commercial space companies.
Euroconsult also prophesies the top 10 space economies will make the approximate 90 percent of the government market be kept in countries.
However, people also expect to see a market of $2 billion created by the 35 identified nascent countries.
On the basis of the report, goveernments will try to replace and expand their in-orbit systems. New countries will start running their first satellite system which is mainly for communications, broadcasting and Earth observation. Although GEO and lower altitude orbits will divide the future satellites equally, Euroconsult still expects that 83 percent of the market value in the anticipated 350 commercial satellites to stay in Geostationary Orbit (GEO).
