On Aug. 17, Comtech EF Data stated that they got an order of DoubleTalk Carrier-in-Carrier bandwidth compression with $1.5 million from an unnamed telecommunications service provider in the Asia-Pacific region.

Comtech said the service provider would use the technology to promote the network extension and supply new service to rural villages, taking place of its regional DMD50 universal satellite modems.

Based on Raytheon's patented Adaptive Cancellation technology, Double Talk Carrier-in-Carrier allows to share the same transponder space for transmitting and receiving duplex link carriers.

Comtech stated in company that service providers were seeking technology ways to increase productivity and reduce operating expenses on the basis of rising prices of satellite bandwidth in Asia, so that they can keep competitive and continuous affordable services.
