Canadian Access to WGS Constellation Depends on the Ground Stations Built by General Dynamics

General Dynamics Canada has got a contract of the Mercury Global Project which is worthy of more than $52 million. The Mercury Global Project not only helps Canada will participate in the United States’ Wideband Global Satcom (WGS) constellation but also offers Canadian Armed Forces the chance to access to secure military satcom. General Dynamics Canada will responsible for building seven ground stations all over the country, and General Dynamics C4 Systems Satcom Technologies will take charge of manufacturing the antennas for the seven ground stations. 


Except the contract above, General Dynamics Canada also got a support contract through which the company will offer 17-year's 24/7 monitoring, help desk, repair, overhaul and other in-service support. This contract values $7.5 million.
