10 Satellite of Optus Begins to Provide Commercial Service

The 10 satellite of Optus has starting offering commercial service after its launch aboard an Ariane 5 rocket on Sep 11th. This satellite is operated by Optus Satellite, which is now used to cellular backhaul and connection services of Optus mobile network by optus. The company can offer voice and data connectivity through the spacecraft for rural consumers and enterprise customers, also the remote areas across Australia.



Optus 10 is the 10th satellite Optus launched and the sixth one in its current fleet. The satellite, located at 164 degrees east, can run in Ku Broadcast Satellite Services (BSS) or Fixed Satellite Services (FSS) bands. The spacecraft is controlled by optus from the Sydney Earth station and backed up by another Perth Earth station.
